That's it, Simpsons World yeah. Nah I know, we can't really keep up with it really, they will show them on Sky but you have to watch them at the time or if you don't have Sky you don't get to see them at all. Of course if you have the planner to record there is that too but it's not the same and not everyone has that either, it's not good really this lack of DVD's that they have done, it's caused more hassle than anything since Fox stopped doing it which is strange cause it's not like they weren't selling cause they were. I think Fox did say something like DVD sales are dying out but I think that's rubbish to be honest, they might have gone through a dry patch but they are and will pick up again and they are still selling anyway as other DVD's get released so that pretty much says it all. I think it's just an excuse really but hopefully they'll get back on it at some point or at least release a big box set when the seasons have finished. I just hope if they do that that they don't make some weird kinda of packaging with it cause I do like my DVD's to be able to sit on the shelf nicely so you can just put them on when you want as opposed to some weird shaped box that doesn't really fit on a shelf and holds the DVD's in some plastic cases or something lol DVD's certainly aren't as popular as they once were, but heck, there are still VHS tape fans out there, so I definitely wouldn't say that DVDs have gone obsolete just yet. Part of the fun of DVDs too is that it's an item itself that you can collect. Online streaming is convenient and takes up much less space, but there's something to be said for being able to display the cases of your favourite shows and films on a shelf. I also loved the bonus features, like the deleted scenes and commentaries. As far as I know, online streaming features only the episodes themselves.

Yeah, there's no doubt they're past their peak as such but they still are massively popular too, still big enough to be successful basically. I mean, when you go into the store even supermarkets here you still see shelves of DVD's and new released DVD's for sale no different to when they were in their peak so if other shows and films are all being released on DVD's there must be a market for it otherwise they wouldn't be making them, so I think it's just Fox really for some reason or another. You have to bare in mind Fox are a huge company so they're not going to miss the profit from The Simpsons DVD's so it's probably a lot of effort for them to do them or something but I'm sure that some other DVD company will licence them anyway once they are free from Fox, it's just a pain really. But yeah there's no doubt streaming and even illegal downloading has effected it all, it's a catch 22 is that though because if they're not making things available to people to the point where the only way they can get them is to download them then you can't really blame those people but at the same time if the DVD's are available and they are downloading them just because they can and can't be bothered to go out and buy them then yeah, it's absolutely a pain, the same with music really. There needs to be give and take I think, although of course Netflix has also come in and Amazon too with their streaming service. I don't think The Simpsons are on them are they but they are even on things such as Playstation too (the first season anyway) so there is no doubt DVD's have declined but I'd still say they were the leading media out there, possibly Blu Rays close behind but I think when it comes to all this there's still a huge market for them, like me a lot of people like to have the physical items and put them on the shelf, I'm the same with CD's really too and even vinyl to a degree
