Simpsons pretty much consumes my life. I've seen every episode and every short; I own tons of Simpsons merchandise, including DVDs, video games, clothes, posters, calendars, etc.; and I never get tired of talking about the show. Prolonged periods of time without Simpsons discussion sends me into a depression. How big of a fan do you consider yourself to be? This isn't a competition; I won't look down on you if you're not as into the show as I am.

I'm pretty obsessed lol. I think my favourite item is I have a hand signed script from the show which I've had framed and mounted and I love!! I've got all the DVD's (If only Fox would release the rest!!), I've got a huge Treehouse Of Horror poster, a big poster of all the cast that's got 457 characters on it (not sure when the poster was made so don't know if there's any characters that could be added since), my calendar at the moment is Simpsons too, my ringtone is Do The Bartman and my phone wallpaper is Simpsons too haha. I've also recently bought all those Library Of Wisdom books which are pretty cool, oh and I've even put the background on my PS4 The Simpsons too haha. I've also got a wall clock and a limited edition collectors plate, a couple of annuals and books but that's about it really. I want those World Of Springfield figures too but they're a bit expensive and I have to get most of them imported. I think there's over 200 of them also and I don't have any so it's like, ok haha You've probably got these I think but these are the Library Of Wisdom books, they're pretty cool You can get Bart, Homer, Ralph, Comic Book Guy, Lisa, Krusty, Flanders, Moe, Marge & Wiggum one's, these here: simpsons.wikia.com/wiki/The_Simpsons_Library_of_Wisdom

No, I wasn't even aware of them. Just having a look now, they look pretty cool. Are they the same size of the Library Of Wisdom books?

Yeah, they're around the same size. I don't have the last two that were released, but I have the other four. They're pretty decent.

Yeah, I'm really hoping Fox continue the DVD's you know. I know Al Jean has said that he still wants this to happen and they still keep recording the commentary for them. It baffled me completely how they stopped them considering that they're still really popular, I at least hope that when the seasons are all done that we get a huge box set release or something cause you know that it's going to be one awesome collection of such an iconic show to have which I really want to be able to have.
They have the online thing too or something at the moment don't they but that's not very good for those outside of the US as it's usually blocked for people on copyright grounds. I'm just hoping Fox do decide to continue them at some point.

Yeah, I'm lucky enough to live in the U.S. and have Simpsons World, so I don't miss the DVDs too much. It would be nice to have the deleted scenes back, though. I always liked witnessing scenes I had never seen before. Simpsons World does have commentaries, but modern commentaries have gotten so dull.

Yeah, I think I'm kinda like one of them that likes to have the physical items too. I'm probably in the minority here but I prefer the original DVD's more than the limited edition one's with the shaped boxes, probably cause they fit on the shelf better lol

Actually, I don't think you're in the minority. I know a lot of people complained because it was so hard to find the original box for season 6 instead of the Homer-head box, which I have. I also have the Marge season 7 box. I'd trade them for the original boxes if I could.

Yeah, they just look better don't they I think? The limited edition boxes looked a little cheaply made I think sometimes too, plus with the original boxes they often open up into really great artwork with the booklets and things, not sure if the limited edition boxes have anything like that inside though as I don't think I've ever seen them opened up? I did get the limited edition Homer plush with the box from The Simpsons Movie but that was alright cause it had the original DVD with the case inside it so you can just take that out and put it on the shelf with the rest of the DVD's and save the box and the plush separately Speaking of The Simpsons Movie. I bought the Blu Ray of that too not too long ago and I was well impressed with how good it looked. I didn't really expect it to cause like, DVD's are clear enough anyway aren't they but it was so vibrant and good and just awesome haha

In all honesty I hated The Simpsons when I was younger, nowadays I can't get enough of it and I love how Springfield is such a perfect satire on the dysfunction of American suburban life. And I like how each character has their own unique personality, but you have to watch the episodes to piece it together.

You know one of the thing I like about that what you mentioned about each character and their own little personality is their quirks too. For example, Lenny always getting something in his eye, as you become more familiar with The Simpsons you start to pick these things up too and it's great

With quirks, some of them have it more obvious, like Burns' "excellent" and Homer's "d'oh!", and then with others you notice it later on, like Skinner fumbling with his necktie when he's nervous. And I love how each character has their own distinctive voice or accent, as well.

Any character you can think of you can find something exclusive to them that's recognisable whether it's Willie, Superintendent Chalmers, Dr Nick, Carl, Lenny, Barney, Moe, the list goes on but I know while reading them you had things come to mind with each character. That's what I've noticed The Simpsons do and in such depth also which is great, it not only add's that little extra laugh but in some cases people can relate to the characters too hence why so many people have so many favourites be it either they just love them and their quirks or they do relate but there's always something to love with everyone really I think

They're flawed, dysfunctional, even cold or cruel sometimes, but more often than not they're kind and decent when it matters most, just like real people. A lot of cartoons have a good amount of wit and humor but are lacking in the human quality that The Simpsons carries.
