I was kinda wondering what the general consensus is here in regards to the characters and knowing about the actors/actress's behind them? Do you prefer to know about the voice actors or do you prefer to kind of drift away from that? For me I prefer not to know too much about them, simply because I like to think of the characters as themselves as opposed to being characters if that makes sense? Sure we all know they're a cartoon and animated and all that but I do like to think of them as real people, like individuals basically not characters that has a person behind them doing a voice. For example, when I found out Dustin Hoffman did the voice for Mr Bergstrom I was kinda like 'Nooooo'. Not in regards to him (not at all) but because I want to think of Mr Bergstrom as Mr Bergstrom not as Dustin Hoffman if you get what I mean. He's still Mr Bergstrom to me So what are your thoughts about this? Do you like to know the actors behind the characters or do you prefer to kinda switch off from that? I thought this could be interesting to see what people's thoughts and vibes were on this

I do like knowing about the actors behind the voices. Not so mcuh guest voices, because chances are I know very little about them, and since they're not likely to appear again, I'm not very immersed in the character. I know nothing about Dustin Hoffman; the character is still simply Bergstrom in my view. But I enjoy knowing who does what voice, and I don't think it takes away from anything in the show. A slight exception to this might be Shearer, since he's pretty vocal about how he hates the show now, and it's a little sad to hear is characters talk when you know the person behind them doesn't care at all.

I think it can be somewhat interesting, for example I had no idea that Bart's voice was done by a woman but then later on there was a video of Nancy Cartwright chatting with fans; she seemed like a really nice person who has a lot of fun with Bart as a character. In some ways though I agree that it's better to not know too much about them.
