I personally despise them. They legitimately make me angry because they're not what couch gags are supposed to be. They should be quick gags that might make you chuckle, and then they should get to the episode. Instead we get long, drawn-out stories that take away time from the episode. They even get guests to animate them now and make them into this big deal. It's such a simple fix, too, which is one of the reasons they make me so angry. Just go back to what you used to do. I like how a lot of Selman-showran episodes skip the intro entirely and get straight to the episode.

It depends, but I personally don't like the ones like the recent ones that referenced Game of Thrones and Avatar. They dragged on a lot to me. If I wanted to watch Avatar or GoT, I'd be watching them instead, but I want to watch the Simpsons. Some of the modern couch gags have good qualities but for the most part I feel like they've become unnecessarily long, rely on pop culture references instead of the subtle cleverness of the originals, and they feel like they're cutting into the episodes themselves.

It depends, not as much as the originals no as I do feel they sometimes go on a little too long but I do think they have been really creative with them too and quite a few I've really liked (Adventure Time one for example & the Guilermo Del Toro one). I prefer the intro completely from the earlier seasons though anyway than the more recent seasons to be honest.
