My favorite one-time character in the HD era is probably Wayne Slater from The Falcon and the D'ohman. Such an underrated episode, and I really like Wayne's personality. It's hard to explain why, but he's just a character I enjoy watching. I was very happy when he was introduced to Tapped Out.

I'm actually quite a big fan of the one time characters too, I'm not sure why but I think they just really stand out with really unique personalities. Even from the earlier seasons with Mr Bergstrom, Jacques, Lyle etc... I think they're awesome. Miss Cantwell was quite mean, she came to mind for me for some reason lol I think she was season 24 wasn't she, or 23 maybe? One of the two lol

Cantwell was from season 24's Black-Eyed, Please. My favorite classic one-time character is probably Lyle Lanley. Hartman did an amazing job playing a dirty sleazebag. A lot of the classic one-timers had some depth to them too, unlike many nowadays. Hank Scorpio seems to be most people's favorite classic character, and he definitely has some layers to him, even if I think You Only Move Twice is a little overrated.

Yeah Lyle with the Monorail lol. A lot of people seem to like Hank Scorpio too I think, probably cause the guy was nuts . I liked Jacques too, I thought his chemistry with Marge was brilliant in that episode. I know sometimes they appear in brief moments in other episodes but I still consider them as one time characters usually as that's what they were made for. This scene here with Jacques and Marge I think is brilliant lol He just had this really intriguing character about him that made you feel that there's more to him than what you see kinda thing. As I say, I thought the chemistry in that episode was really good, it's a little underrated I think. I also really like Mr Bergstrom, he made me laugh and I think he helped create one of the most emotional scene in the earlier Simpsons that they had. Along with probably the 'Bart Gets An F' episode which I think nailed all the emotions in that episode.

Bergstrom was good. He served as an understanding teacher and a role model to Lisa. He didn't really make me laugh, though. He was a good character, but I don't think it was the character that made Lisa's Substitute such a good episode; rather, I think it was the characterization of Homer and Lisa that made it really stand out.
